The first anti-submarine submarines
The influence of tactical lessons learned during World War Two and also technical advances made in Germany led to the design of a new generation of submarines. A German Type XXI submarine and a Walther hydrogen peroxide boat fell into British hands immediately after the war. Royal Navy submarines used features of these boats in the immediate post war period to advance their own designs.
