Sea soldiers on land again

Marines could not return to sea as soon as World War One had ended. Battalions of Royal Marines remained acting as soldiers battling the Communists of Russia and China.

Their swift mobilisation and capability in this type of role showed how the Royal Marines could be used instead of at sea.
